Celebrate QUATRO de Mayo at the Belltown Pub
By Michele Costanza…bringing you a humorous view on consumer topics in an all-too-serious world
I can think of a hundred reasons to go out this Saturday, the night BEFORE Cinco de Mayo, but the folks at The Belltown Pub have clearly done their trivia research to arm you with some fun factoids to justify celebrating Quatro de Mayo. Just go with it, and you’ll feel better about your multi-day party.

HAPPY QUATRO DE MAYO AT THE BELLTOWN PUB
May 4th Celebration Features South–of-the Border Inspired Food and Drink Specials
Seattle, Washington — Erwin, Dave and Zach, co-owners of The Belltown Pub, are always ones to “get their party on” and their Quatro de Mayo celebration is no exception. This trio of bad boys will be offering food and drink specials on Saturday, May 4th from 11am to 2am.
While Cinco de Mayo honors the Battle of Puebla in which General Ignacio Zaragosa’s army defeated the French occupational forces in Mexico on May 5th, 1862, there are plenty of events to be remembered on May 4th.
Some facts on May 4, courtesy of Erwin:
Columbus discovered Jamaica in 1494 on the 4th
Rhode Island declared independence from Britain in 1776 on that date
The soap, Another World, premiered on TV in 1964
(Obviously, having several sets of Trivial Pursuit in the games area of The Pub has paid off)
Chef Zach’s “holiday” menu (in addition to the regular menu) will offer Street Tacos with guests selecting from carne (beef), carnitas (roasted pork), and camarones (shrimp). For the truly hungry, there will be a ridiculously large Mission Burrito. Also featured is a Smoked Salmon Stuffed Pasilla Pepper with rice & beans.
Dave will be presiding over buckets of Corona, pitchers of Margaritas and Bulldogs at the bar. He will also be serving up Sloppy Rita’s, which he says are basically “a Margarita on steroids”.
